Happy Birthday Gemma!

Yes indeed. Gemma is 22 today! Happy Birthday!

Right. Thats the obligatory greeting out of the way, lets blog....

Yesterday at the Legion Tony asked me if I could work lunch time today as well as the evening. I agreed (D'oh!) so I did 12:30-3:00

The gang is going out later to the Academy in Brum but I shall be stuck in the club. If my GTP comes through for September I might Jack the legion in.

I am now off to drop Gemma's birthday card in to her.

The power to weild destiny!!!!

Howdy bloggers. This is my only update since last Friday. Sorry about that but thats life.... Nothing has happened. I'm boring, I know, but there we are. I have been doing some more invigilating after school and today I was all on my own... Quite daunting. I was pacing up and down the sports hall making sure everyone had enough paper and that no one was talking. All I could think was:

"Muahahaha, I hold in my hands the power to disqualify candidates on the spot! I can weild their destiny!!!"
And so on...... But everyone was good and was working well until someone at the back farted. I don't know who it was but it gave everyone a giggle...

Ah well. Time for something to drink. I have a tickly cough coming on....

A whopper of an update.

Howdy readers. I haven't blogged for a couple of days so that I can create a nice big post for you to read through.

Wednesday:
School was boring. Nothing really happened. I went up to the driving range and hit a 200 yard smasher with my club. 99p well spent, I think. On the evening, my aunt Molly took us out for an indian. There is a nice one in Rubery called Bano Phool. It doesn't look like a restaurant from the outside because of its design. We had a good feed and then went back to my nans for a coffee.

Thursday:
Ah now yesterday, I did my usual day, with a stint in the art studio, but then I was invigilating the last part of an exam from 3:00 until 3:50. 2 minutes after going in, I noticed an orange glow coming from outside. I looked out and found that a year 11 student had slung his/her blazer over an old fence post by the sports hall and set fire to it! Being nylon and polyester it had started to melt and had set fire to the grass underneath it. I grabbed a fire extinguisher and squeezed the trigger...

... Have you ever used a fire extinguisher? They don't half have some recoil to them!

Which brings us to today,

Friday:
School was the same old routine, but it all seems a lot worse when it's hot outside and no air-con' to keep cool. I came home and got out of my works clothes and started blogging. I have work later and I am in at 7:00 instead of 8:00 because of a private party in the concert room. Tomorrow is the joint V.E/V.J celebration at the club and we have some military vehicles coming to the club, I just hope they don't scratch my car!

I need a drink. TTFN readers

99p Golf

I went down to Cash Converters yesterday like I said I would and got myself a driving iron. It is an Integra B52 and I spent a whopping 99p on it! yep. 99p. I will be going down to the range later to test it out.

Today at work was univentful. I had a kiddie swap with Mrs Reeves and so I ended up in lessons that I don't usually go to (which is a good thing because every day isn't the same, then) but nothing really exciting happened.

Sorry folks, thats it for now. I have nothing else to blog. You can go to other wonders of the internet via my new links section on the right hand side of the page. I added it there all by myself! (I had to copy and paste some HTML)

Fore!

Yesterday, a.k.a. Saturday was a bit boring. I got up fairly late and ended up lounging about the house until a random phonecall from Mr Bennett livened things up. He was going up to Becketts farm driving range. He had borrowed his brothers driver and a couple of tees. He invited me to come and have a go so I went to kill the time. I had 45 shots and Dan had about 60. We spent a couple of hours thwacking then off the range. Never having used one of these monstrous clubs before (I hardly play golf, let alone use something as professional as a "driver"!) I was naturally awkward with it and skewed a few shots a few feet before really getting to grips with it....

... And then it happened. A nice easy back-swing, a forcefull strike followed by a beautiful "thwack" sound and I had sent the ball straight down the range at a distance of 200 yards. The feeling is euphoric. I plan to go some more as it is a good stress reliever. I will go down to Cash Converters in Kings Heath tomorrow and see if I can spend a "fiver on a driver"!

Saturday evening at the club was not bad. We had a new band called "Lizard Skins" who were quite good.

Right, on to today...

I got up to cook Sunday lunch (bet you didn't know I can do a mean curry did you?) while Mum and Sis' were out. Now it must be said that chicken curry for Sunday lunch isn't most peoples first choice but we get bored of the same old roast dinners. So I got cooking. It turned out rather good and I did a portion of fried rice seasoned with saffron (ooh, get you with the cuisine!)

I sat for an hour or two reading a book that I am part way through... 'erm... reading. "Zero Option" by Chris Ryan. it's about an SAS officer who has his family kidnapped and how he has to trick the IRA into letting them go. It's a really good book and I am nearly finished after only a week after picking it up.

Today at the Legion David was working with me as Sarah is on holiday. He plays golf regularly and I asked him how to swing properly. He showd me with an old broom handle and corrected me on a few things like grip and stance... And position, back swing technique, foot placement, forward swing technique, weight transfer, eye co-ordination, follow through, and over-swing correction... You know.. Just the basics... He asked me what my handicap was, to which I replied "golf" and continued practicing my swing with the broom handle in between serving customers. Now when we go to the range again I might be able to surprise Dan. (Lank, If you are at work reading this then promise me you wont tell him I have had a bit of help!)

After work I went down to my Nans as per usual and watched Top Gear. I got a call from the club saying that Tony had found my wages. I had dropped them and not realised it so on my way home I stopped off to pick them up.

I am now going to get myself a plate of apple strudel and custard.

Weekends aren't long enough

Yesterday at the Packhorse we were all sat round by the pool table because 2 fat bastards had parked their flabby arses on the couches where we usualy sit. Other than that, not much happened. Lank didn't come out because it was his mum's birthday. (Happy Birthday Maggie.)

Today at School I made the year 10's watch me do a small watercolour demonstration as they are moving in to watercolour but don't really know how to apply it to paper properly. The lesson went quite well and it allowed Sally to get on with her reports.

There was a private party on at the Legion this evening. We were busy and had a half-hour extension but there was some good music being played by the band, and the staff got a plate full of food from the buffet, so it wasn't all bad.

Right. I'm off to bed. I am exhausted.

"MR GME" has arrived!

Oh yeah! Got my car re-registered. I can now legally display my number plates so I put them on yesterday after work.

MR GME

I think they look absolutely fantastic. I have just made myself a pizza in the microwave so I am going to scoff it. TTFN

Bloggie, Bloggie, Bloggie.... Oi! Oi! Oi!

I got up late yesterday, just in time for Sunday lunch, in fact! I headed off to work for a 4 hour stint at the Legion. I went to my nans for tea, as usual, and found to my horror that Top Gear had been replaced by womens football! the cheek of it...

Today at school was quite relaxing. No major problems, no incidents to report. While this makes for an easy day, it means I have nothing to blog.... Sorry readers.

I am stewarding the club tonight. I have the spare keys and will be opening up at 7:00. Sue will be coming in at 9 and will probably be paid stewards rate, while I struggle on at a mere bar-persons wage. I hope my alarm code works... The last time i tried it, it unset the alarm OK, but it did something to the keypad which required a phonecall to the maintenence people.....

Right dear readers. I am off to finish off the rice pudding which mother made yesterday....

Money for nothing and your chicks for free

I woke up early this morning and went with my mum and sister to Matalan over in Stratford. I took some cash and got myself a set of new togs. 3 new pairs of jeans. a new Tshirt, and a new jumper. I was all set for the evening at the NEC...

... Mark Knopfler was excellent! His first song was the theme to Auf Wiedersehen, Pet followed by Walk of Life. He did some stuff off his new album Shangri La and other songs from his solo CD's but slotted in Romeo and Juliet and Telegraph Road. After a 3 hour set he did Brothers In Arms as an encore and then left the stage. After an agonising 10 minutes he walked back on and the unmistakable intro to Money For Nothing began to ring out. Needless to say everyone was standing and singing along (almost drowning out the band!)

Me and father popped back to the legion for a quick drink where I was greeted by everyone telling me to serve behind the bar. After telling everyone to piss off and stop complaining, I downed my pint and came home.... And started blogging the evening... Which you're now reading... I can't really get any more up to date than that now, can I?

I am logging off to get some food.

La La La Lalalalaa, Lalalalaa, Hey June?

June already! Has someone pushed the "fast-forward" button on the tape-deck of life?

Sorry for not updating since Monday (as Mr Thomas pointed out to me) but this week has been one of rest and relaxation.....

... Wait a sec'... NO IT HASN'T!

I Set up Donnas PC on the monday, and installed the new printer/scanner on Tuesday. Afterwards we went for a drink at the Drawbridge pub.

Wednesday was a bit weird. I woke up at about 10:30 and didn't really do much except play on my Xbox all day.

Yesterday was much the same, a whole day of nothing until I went up the Packhorse in the evening. At around 9:00 who should walk throught the door? non other than Mr Bennett! I haven't seen him in about 2 months due to his football malarkey on a thursady night. He had an earlier kick-off though so he dropped by.

Which brings us to today. I got up and decided that I was going to look in to getting a CD autochanger put in the car. I went to ripspeed at halfords and they can supply and fit a Sony autochanger for £199.99. Rip-speed = Rip-off.

So now I'm waiting for the evening to descend on me so that I can go to work... I am getting bored of the Legion. The same old soldiers ordering the same drinks week in, week out.... It's just not fun anymore. Plus which I am 23 years old and haven't had a Friday or Saturday night out in quite a long time. (That said, I have booked off Tomorrow because I am going to see Mark Knopfler at the NEC)

Right, I'm off to wallow in self pitty. TTFN.
